TUESDAY TEAM TALK PODCAST LAUNCHED

We're delighted to announce the first ever Tuesday Team Talk Podcast - now you can listen to our tripe at your leisure!
It's not our intention to put every programme on, just a select few until we see the level of response.  The first one is last night's cracking chat with Atholl Henderson.
To access it you can either go to the iTunes Podcast Store, search for Tuesday Team talk and download.  Or if that's too much hassle the link https://www.buzzsprout.com/88761/485971-2017-03-07-atholl-henderson-wav will get you there!  Let us know what you think.
TUESDAY TEAM TALK PROGRAMME NOMINATED FOR AWARD

Tuesday Teamtalk, the Saints orientated programme broadcast at 7pm each Tuesday has been nominated for "Best Programme With Multiple Presenters" at the annual Hospital Broadcasting Awards.  The winners will be announced on 25 March.

Over the last year the programme has gone from strength to strength with a wide selection of excellent guests and an irreverent attitude to Scottish football.  It now has regular listeners across the world via our web broadcasting facility.

Tuesday Teamtalk was featured in a full page article in the matchday programme for the recent St Johnstone v Celtic match.

The presenters' main claim to fame is their catch-phrase "We ken hee-haw!"  Not that it stops them airing their views!

Be sure to listen in and feel free to contact us with your views on the topics under discussion.

"Great show with a lovely Saintees focus hosted by great guys who are clearly having fun talking about our local favourites."                                  J.E.
"Great programme, always tune in to it online."   G.M.

135 YEARS OF VOLUNTEERING

Volunteers with a combined total of 135 years of service were recognised at Hospital Radio Perth's recent AGM.  That's thousands of patients visited and hours of broadcasting by this dedicated group.

The organisation is thankful for the many hours of unpaid work freely given by its 35 members without whom the service could not continue.

NOT AS DOPEY AS WE THOUGHT!

For the first time in 13 years Hospital Radio Perth teams were able to take part officially in the annual PSPC / HRP quiz night.
We were all delighted when the Wednesday team comprising Colin Heller, Dave Oswald, Peter Drummond Hay and Sylvia O'Donnell went on to win.

Our picture shows them being presented with the cup by PSPC manager Anne Begg while quiz-master John Watson lurks at the back!

HOSPITAL RADIO PERTH SPICE UP THEIR PROGRAMMING

Hospital Radio Perth’s Tuesday evening request show has been sponsored by popular South Street, Indian Restaurant “Tabla”.

Tabla owner Praveen Kumar relishes links with the Perth Royal Infirmary based charity, “Tabla is unique in that all the spices used are home grown in our family farm in India, while Hospital Radio Perth bring a unique recipe of music and chat specially blended for the hospital community.  We are delighted to be supporting their work.”

The cheque was accepted by long serving station volunteer, Head Of Sport, Fraser Lindsay who is part of the Tuesday evening request team and who devised the weekly Tuesday Team talk spot.

Fraser is pleased that Tabla are to support the programme.  "Tuesday evenings are a lot of fun and we enjoy getting out to visit the patients then turn their requests into a personal and entertaining programme.  Tabla’s sponsorship will help to finance our service over the next year."

 WELCOME - AND WELCOME BACK

When Hospital Radio Perth first began broadcasting back in 1989 two of our earliest members were David and Fiona Anderson who both worked in healthcare.  David was one of our earliest presenters and committee members.  About 20 years ago they moved to the south of England.

Their daughter Kathryn is now developing a career as a singer / songwriter on the country music circuit.  She has recorded in Nashville and is heading back there to record more of her songs.

We were delighted recently when David and Kathryn took time out from their hectic schedule on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to visit HRP, record an interview and a few of her songs.

We're sure you'll be hearing more about Kathryn Anderson before too long, but for the moment you can find out more at http://www.kathrynandersonmusic.com/
